I'm Luke Vernon, a junior computer science major at the University of Maryland, College Park. My journey into the world of software development began when I first started learning Python in middle school. However, it was my introduction to virtual reality that truly ignited my passion for the field of XR (eXtended Reality). During my time at UMD, I've been actively involved in the XR club and currently hold a leadership position within the club. Over the years, I've gained valuable experience in utilizing the Unity game engine, working with tools such as Oculus, SteamVR, and the XR Interaction Toolkit. As of now, I'm also gaining experience as an intern at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHUAPL). In this role, I'm actively using Unity to contribute to the development of a training simulation for the Navy, further growing my expertise in XR technology.
